Design & Technology

Through our Design and Technology curriculum, children at Langwith Bassett Junior Academy will access a high-quality programme that will enable them to explore the world around them. They will learn about how the physical and natural world works, what its components are, and how the world got to be the way it is now. Children learn by asking questions arising from their natural curiosity and knowledge of the world around them thus Design and Technology at Langwith Bassett inspiring, rigorous and practical. Children seek to find answers through creativity and imagination. They design and make products that solve real and relevant problems. Through the evaluation of past and present design and technology, they develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world. We believe that high-quality design and technology education makes an essential contribution to the creativity, culture, wealth and well-being of the nation. We aim to give all children a strong understanding of the uses and implications of Design and Technology, today and for the future.
