Geography provides children with the opportunity to explore their local area as well as countries from all around the world. Children are encouraged to look at similarities and differences and ask and answer questions. Geography initiates curiosity and provokes discussion. Fieldwork allows pupils to learn away from the classroom and explore their local surroundings. Most importantly Geography raises awareness and allows pupils to become more knowledgeable of the world around them.
