We have a brand new bespoke Foundations Unit that has been built to meet the development needs of all our Foundation Stage children.  The Reception children share the Foundations Unit with our FS1 children.

We have 16 places available in our FS2 classes.

School times: 8.30am – 3.15pm

Registration  closes at 8.45am.

The breakfast and after-school provision is available for FS2 children. Breakfast Club operates 7.50am - 8.30am at a cost of £3 per day, which includes cereal, bagels and a drink. This service needs to be booked at the school office. After-school clubs for FS2 to Year 6 are provided by teaching staff and can also be requested at the school office.

Class 1 (Foxes) – Reception class is taught by Miss Agatowska.

It’s wonderful to see all the happy faces each morning, and to witness the amazing changes the children have made since September.

Each morning, we deliver phonics and literacy lessons. In the afternoons, we cover Maths, as well as explore exciting topics about the wider world through play and hands-on discovery. We read stories and sing songs regularly and take time to talk with the children to learn about their likes and dislikes – this helps us plan activities that suit their interests.

Children will take home a phonics book each week that matches their phonics ability.  This book is changed weekly by the class teacher and adapted to meet their growing skills. We ask parents to encourage their child to read their phonics book at home at least three times a week, recording each session in their reading record, and to practice any sounds the children are sent home.

Summer 1

This half-term is filled with rich learning experiences that centre around wonderful storybooks and playful exploration. Our main focus will be on developing children’s literacy skills through engaging texts, while also building their understanding of the world, maths knowledge, and phonics confidence.

Children will explore a selection of high-quality books including The Lion Inside and Be Brave Little Penguin by Giles Andreae and Rachel Bright. They will also enjoy favourites such as Monkey Puzzle, Lion Hunt, Elmer, Farmer Duck, Rosie’s Walk, and A Squash and a Squeeze.
Through these stories, pupils will learn to retell tales using new vocabulary, make predictions, talk about characters and settings, and discuss key events with growing confidence

Our work is based around our favourite stories, rhymes and poems, and we love to learn both inside and outside the classroom!

Every Thursday, the children take part in energetic PE lessons. We encourage them to get changed independently, so please ensure your child has their PE kit in school on this day.

Additionally, we will be learning some Zumba dances every Friday afternoon.

Please take a moment to look at our latest, Summer 1 overview.

If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to come and speak to me.
